Baby showers are back! If there ever was a silver lining to the quarantine of 2020, this year’s baby boom is it! As the world slowly opens back up to the idea of hosting in person events, we have had the most fun working with those who are celebrating the arrival of their little ones. When planning which blooms you will use for a baby shower, here are three things to consider for baby showers:
What is the theme of the baby shower?
Flowers are a perfect way to enhance your existing baby shower theme and décor. Having a theme also helps to guide the conversation with our Floral Designer.
Here are a couple of our favorite themes:
- Southern Gentleman
- Boho
- Garden Party
- “Tea for Two” for twins
- Cowboy/Cowgirl
- Honeybee (for the mother-to-bee)
Do you know the gender of the baby?
Outside of the obvious options: pink or blue flowers, some of the most popular options for a Spring baby shower include hydrangeas, roses, and tulips, which come in many colors. White carnations and calla lilies are also in high demand, especially for gender neutral baby showers. Adding baby’s breath or seeded eucalyptus is a great way to soften any floral centerpiece.
Details make all the difference at baby showers!
Hydrangeas pouring out of the top of cowboy boots, mini rose arrangements in teacups at individual place settings, a flower wall set up for photos… the options are endless! There are many unique ways to incorporate gorgeous, floral details into your baby shower. One of our favorites is to offer a floral party favor for each guest to take home. Finally, for some inspiration from our baby showers:
One of our recent baby shower events was a Sunday brunch with vintage pink china, mimosas, and accented with large, feminine flowers. We featured soft pink and cream peonies, complimented by salel leaves and seeded eucalyptus to create a vintage aesthetic. The event featured a 12-foot-long table and a fireplace. We added a 12-foot garland to the table and created a stunning arrangement to adorn the fireplace mantle. Each guest left with a small glass budvase with a pink or white rose as a party favor.
